Megan Kenson is certainly a mover if we’ve ever seen one. This conscious explorer not only teaches Pilates and Yoga, but is also a professional dancer that we’ve had the pleasure of working with for many years now. We are thrilled to have her positive, creative, and nurturing spirit provide a restorative yoga + self massage workshop during our Urban Retreat! Get to know Megan a little more!
Moved LA: How would you describe yourself?
Megan: My values are deep rooted in connection to self, nature, and community. I aim for holistic optimization, longevity, and balance. I am here to bridge people to the larger picture of what it means to be alive.
Moved LA: What’s your story?
Megan: For my own journey and for those I have to pleasure to assist on theirs, I owe much of my realization to movement. Movement has been key in decoding the greater mysteries of the body and furthermore life. I am grateful to say, I grew up dancing my whole life. Through dance I understood how important movement and body connection were for myself and others. I have made my profession about sharing my passions for dance, yoga, Pilates and other movement and energy practices.
Moved LA: Why do you do this work?
Megan: I feel naturally inclined to help others live life with more awareness, freedom and fun.
Moved LA: Who is your role model, and why?
Megan: Rich Roll - he is a wonderful example of someone willing to put the time and energy into making positive waves in the community, a huge inspiration for all those around him. Someone willing to speak for and stand up for causes he feels passionate about. Educated on what he shares and puts care into his work. Meanwhile he can still laugh a hearty laugh.
Moved LA: If you could give everyone one piece of advice on their health and wellness, what would it be?
Megan: Don’t take anything too seriously, go with the flow.
Moved LA: If you could have one super power, what would it be?
Megan: Shapeshifter - the possibilities are endless!
Moved LA: What are you top three favorite things to do when you have time off?
Megan: Go out into nature with my shoes off, play with my beautiful friends, take more time and care to make delicious foods.
