Mover Monday: Danielle Buerli
Hey Movers! Today's Mover Monday features freelance creative, Danielle Buerli. Danielle is first up in a fun new series we launched last week where we tapped some cool Angelenos to use our Make Moves card deck and create something, like seriously anything! Danielle is a warm soul who brings a sense of ease to any room she walks into and is a great friend to our team here at Moved LA. Wildly talented in many mediums, she has the ability to see untapped beauty in her surroundings and to draw it out. Read on to find out more about Danielle and what she created for us below!
Moved LA: How would you describe yourself?
Danielle: I am a creative/illustrator/designer making and exploring things, hopefully inspiring other to be creatively curious.
Moved LA: What’s your story?
Danielle: I am freelance creative working and design with brands and a small businesses to share their products and work. It ranges from branding, marketing design, or to just drawing food. I love being able to do all kinds of things in one day and working people that are experts in something completely different to what I do.
Moved LA: How did the Make Moves card deck inspire you?
Danielle: It was fun to see how the cards related to my own art practice like drawing. Some of cards were harder to translate to make something but it was interesting and a good challenge to try. I picked a card to create symmetrical shapes which I ended up just drawing a bunch of circles!
Moved LA: If you were a cartoon character, who would it be?
Danielle: I'd like to think I am a Lisa Simpson but I am probably more of Garfield eating carbs.
Moved LA: What are your top 3 favorite things to do when you need to relax and have fun?
Danielle: Drawing, always. I draw about my day like a journal or what I thinking of working on next. I have recently gotten into gardening and marbling paper. Marbling is great because it so intuitive you don't have to do much to get a really gratifying result.
Moved LA: Who or what sources do you follow to stay informed and inspired?
Danielle: I am always listening to podcasts while I work. I recently started Design Time and they have some really interesting interviews, where I have to pause and take notes!
